Matthew Ethan Williams dragged his feet up the stairs as he headed for his chemistry class. Yesterday had been tiresome and all he just wanted to do today was fall asleep on his feet. He resembled much of a zombie right now; and watching Supernatural the night before only added more weight to his steps. He felt lightheaded, like he'd been raised from the grave, his stomach was growling too. Yes, very much like a dead person walking. Did I mention it was 6:45 in the morning? Yeah. What kind of professor teaches students that early? Like motherchucker! Or rather, why had he been given this schedule?
It was well into the second week of the second semester when he'd moved here and lucky he'd still been admitted. The admin office had tried their best to find any unfilled slots for the semester and had fitted it into his schedule as best as they could that it had all went copperboom! Just wow. It was either that or he had to wait another half-year before he started studying again. Of course he'd chosen the first option. He needed to be continuously moving else face the inner turmoils of his everpumpedup brain. Being AWOL for one whole semester wasn't exactly going to make him avoid that.
So here he was, after abruptly leaving his home for reasons he wished to forget, he'd went straight to the admin office, got his papers ready and had gone to his dormitory full of energy... which were used up eventually. When was the last time he'd slept? Right, two days ago. It was surprising that he could still walk. It was like his body was on auto mode, he wasn't really controlling much of his actions. It was routinary and out of habit back in his old university. This new place wasn't that different, only more extravagant, not that he had anything to say about money.
Leaning his body on the wall for a bit, he took a glance at his watch and read 7:10. Ah, yes, 7:10. My class is in.. Oh shit! How long had it taken him to climb to the second floor? Even though his mind was racing, his body wasn't exactly reacting as fast. He straightened himself ever so slowly, took another look at his schedule and scanned the hallway. A few doors down would be his room, officially marking the start of his first day of freedom.
It wasn't really going well as he'd plan.
