arlie Love Mason. Yes. Remember her name. Remember it. Kaye hummed the tune of Fame playing on her shuffle as she entered the academy's double doors. Her face was vibrant, happy, visible in her walk. Her hardwork had blossomed and she'd been lucky to be picked as one of the scholars to study at the prestigious school. She kept the excitement to a minimum though, not wanting to look like some kid getting the best candy ever. She still had her image to work on. Her perfect self. She kept her pace and headed for the administrator's office when a list of courses caught her eye. There, plastered next to the door were papers stapled and taped onto the bulletin board. Students were oblivious of its existence, others merely looked and went on their way but Karlie, on the other hand, stepped closer and scanned the papers. She at least wanted to know the other subjects the academy was offering and checked if there were any particular ones she'd like to take as her electives. Her brows furrowed, went on serious mode and read the papers thoroughly, sometimes whispering the subjects to herself and pausing, debating whether she liked them or not. Her concentration and train of thought were interrupted when her shuffle played the next track, a rather loud song and her eyes shut tight, surprised by the sudden change in volume. Groaning, she took the earphones out and stuffed them in her pocket along with the gadget, switching it off as she got her notebook and pen from her bag. She listed about ten subjects, still undecided, in her notebook and weighed which ones she really wanted. Completely focused on the notes, she turned towards the doors to the administrator's room when someone opened it with enough force to knock Karlie down if she hadn't noticed the its sudden movement. Lucky Kaye wasn't one of them people who lost track of their surroundings when they were focused on other stuff. She stepped back almost instantly and let out a breath she'd held in. Rory had been having a slight problem lately. She was starting to want to fall asleep in classes, and the thought that, for the first time, she may actually pass out during a class made her need to feel motivated. Rory got up, just like she did everyday in the same manner, left early in the morning, went to her classes. But today, instead of going out to study before class, then work, she went to the administration. She was very close to the student aids, the counselors, and even the principal of the school. But today, she only needed a counselor. She went to her favorite, Rochelle. Rochelle and her talked, Rochelle constantly reminding her of her status, and what it would take for the next student to take her place. Little to nothing. Rory thanked Rochelle, she needed to know exactly what it would take to stay in first place.
She walked out of the office quickly, checking the time. If she left quickly, she could still study for about ten minutes before her next class. However, upon leaving, Rory swung open the door too fast and nearly hit a girl, who looked shocked and relieved she didn't get smacked in the face. Rory covered her mouth embaressed, with wide eyes. "I am so sorry. I should have been more careful of what I was doing." Rory apologized quickly, closing the door softly behind her. She looked at the girl and saw it was Karlie, the next in line for her spot. Rory smiled softly, and looked toward the wall. "what classes are you signing up for next semester?" She asked. Rory like Karlie, they had spoken on rare occasion, and knew who each other was. It wasn't that they didn't get along, but Rory knew she didn't have enough time to hang out, not that Karlie had ever shown any indication of wanting to.

h. Wow. Of all the people she could bump into first thing this day. Rory Angel Morgan. Kaye had gotten up from bed bright and early as usual. Studied, tidied, groomed. Get stuff done. Get her plan done. Get today done. Facing Rory hadn't been in it, she was in the other plan. "Oh. Hi Rory," Kaye said, the shock visible on her face. Srsly? Rory? I have to talk to her? Great, just great.Miss Morgan. Pretty, perfect Morgan. Miss Grade A's. Miss President. Miss religious. Miss hardworking. Miss everything. Yeay. Not that Kaye hated her. Hate needed alot of energy. You needed to fuel it. Kaye already had an image to constantly work on, adding hate to the mix would just kill her. She was just irritated by the fact that someone else was receiving all the attention when they were all rightfullly hers. She had her own accomplishments as well that could easily compare with those of Rory's, but those were all left behind in her former school. Now, she was basically a nobody in this new school. Just that thought nearly crushed her and she removed it from her head, shaking it in the process. She was gonna be on the top of the food chain soon enough. She'd crush the pretty and smart girl infront of her, she'd laugh and laugh at Rory when she basically lost everything she had now. That would be the day. Yes, it surely would... and no one was gonna stop her. "No, I don't know yet," She said honestly, running her fingers through her hair to straighten them. "You? Seems like you're decided." Kaye assumed Rory'd submitted her classes to the admin office, ahead of her. I wonder how long...She felt for her shuffle in her pockets and found the switch, turning it off before looking back up at Rory. She stood there, smiling at the girl like she had no evil plans brewing in her head. On other days, she would've really, really liked Rory, only if Kaye wasn't the vanity queen she was. Rory was actually simple, yet stood out, her presence would fill a room, even a hallway. Heads turned at her and sometimes at Kaye too. It would probably be a real something if these two got along well. But of course they wouldn't. Karlie Mason lived up to her own expectations. She wasn't stepping down from it just yet. She'd been like this ever since in third grade, when people admired her for her piano and violin skills, not knowing the amount of hardwork and blood and frustration she caused her parents back at home, just to perfect the art. Why was she going to give up now?[/blockquote][/blockquote] And Tell Me What You See! done and hard. lol You Ain't Seen The Best Of Me Yet!455 I'll Make You Forget The Rest! nope. its perfect. dont strain yourself. :) Don't You Know Who I Am! This template was created by charoulla of Caution 2.0 <3 | charoulla ©2009, , All Rights Reserved

Rory was relieved when Karlie didn't freak out about the door incidence. Of course, Rory hadn't actually hit her, but nonetheless, she knew a few people who would want to get a couple words in for that. She looked up at the clock on the wall, studying would have to wait for tonight. Which was fine, she rationalized. She could do that, she's done it before. And now Rory knew her limits on sleep, so if it didn't happen tonight she would wake up extra early. "Hey Karlie." She smiled lightheartedly. Rory didn't feel competition toward anyone really. If someone else got first place, they probably deserved to have it. Of course, that didn't mean Rory wouldn't fight for it again, but maybe it would be nice to just be normal, for once instead of rushing around with school, work and church.
Rory moved closer up to the class schedule and shook her head. "I have no idea what I'm going to take yet. People here take forever to choose classes, so I doubt there won't be a spot for me. I've been meaning to look, just been busy." Rory assured, looking at the piece of paper Karlie was scribbling on. The classes that looked interesting. Rory bit her lip and opened her backpack, pulling out a pile of papers, identical to the ones on the clipboard. She handed them over to Karlie.
"The office lets me borrow the copier a lot, why don't you just take this?" Rory offered. She would make a new packet tomorrow, and she really didn't want Karlie getting hit in the face by the door for reals this time.

he door clicked as it returned to its closed position, shutting off all the sound coming from the office. Karlie had heard someone crying and two boys muttering curses before the door shut. Talk about drama. "I have no idea what I'm going to take yet. People here take forever to choose classes, so I doubt there won't be a spot for me. I've been meaning to look, just been busy." Rory answered as she stepped closer to the list and fingered through it, not really reading the words written. She looked back at Karlie and found her notes interesting. Karlie instinctively wanted to hide the notes from her since it was hers, Rory hadn't even asked permission. The fact that Rory was her competitor didn't help as well, why would she want to show her what classes she wanted to be in? Get things done your way much? Kaye thought, using all her might from keeping her hands steady, ready to close the notebook as soon as Rory was done. Kaye stared at her incredulously. "I've narrowed the subjects to take for my electives to around ten," She supplied, in case Rory asked. "Still haven't decided which ones I'd really take to fit my course."When the blonde shifted her attention to her bag to retrieve some papers, unsure of what she was doing, Kaye proceeded on returning the notebook and pen into her bag for later debate. She just didn't want Rory to be nosing around her own business, didn't the other girl have other stuff to do? Grades to maintain, a job to work in, the church to show up for, the list went on... Yet here she was, wasting Kaye's precious time. "The office lets me borrow the copier a lot, why don't you just take this?" Rory said as she handed the papers to Karlie. Am I charity now? Karlie's mind went, something about herself wasn't just right. Not that she was gonna admit to anyone, even to her own face. She did take the papers from Rory though, not knowing what she was being given, smiling gratefully as she read through the pages. Her mouth opened to say an automatic thank you but it just hanged open when she realized that the papers were a copy of the ones on the bulletin board. She closed it eventually and racked her brain for an answer. "Uhm... Are you even allowed to?" Her reply went, uncertain of what to say. She was somehow softening, humbled by the thought that Rory wanted to help her even if they weren't really friends, more like acquaintances. But of course that wasn't happening. Just like that, she knew what to do. She smiled and handed Rory the papers back. "Thank you, but I reckon they have these online. Besides, I wouldn't want to burden you with getting new copies anyways, that'd just be so wrong of me. I appreciate the thought though, alot." She said sincerely, looking at the blonde straight in the eye, only then did she notice the circles around them. "Are those...?" Her voice trailed off, not meaning to stare closely. Kaye suddenly noticed how tired Rory looked like. Rory smiled at Karlie, oblivious to the fact Karlie wanted nothing to do with her, or the light shaking of Karlie's hands and the sound of her notebook snapping shut when Rory stopped looking. "That's way better than what I have done, I haven't even looked. But I mapped out all the classes I need when I first started school, so I doubt it should be too hard. Anything ad everything to do with writing." Rory sighed. She wondered what Karlie wanted to do. All Rory ever had wanted to do was to write children's books. Her dreams had never changed. To be able to affect the future's children... The thought had always inspired her. She wanted to change the world, and she thought that would be the best place to start. After college, she knew she would make her first childrens book as a missionary somewhere. Though she didn't know where yet, she was always confident of her future.
Rory shrugged as she heard Karlie's question. "Yeah. I seem to either be great or a nuisance in there. Whatever it takes to get rid of me." Rory said sadly. She tried to not think that way, but the only reason to maintained such good grades was because she couldn't think of a better redemption for her family, which severely bothered her. She hated trying so hard for people who wouldn't try, it was discouraging. Not that Karlie was trying to bring that up. When Karlie pushed the papers back into her hands, Rory looked to her confused. However she didn't push the matter. She only mumbled a quick, "It's really not a big deal..."
When Karlie began inspecting her, Rory looked at her, getting more confused by the minute. Rory saw her looking at her eyes, and Rory breathed with relief. "Just been having a hard time sleeping. I'm far too busy for my own good, it's getting harder to juggle everything." Rory explained with a smile, very nonchalant. notes Hahaha. aye shifted her weights on her feet. "It's really not a big deal..."It is for me Miss Blonde Head. So quit taking me for charity. Karlie's ever snapping ego snapped with its snapper at the girl, who in turn was oblivious to anything. Gawd. Innocent, much? I'm bitch much? Like really, what did Rory ever do to her that she's mean to her... only inside her dark mind, outside she was completely plastic, er, Miss Perfect herself. She's stealing everyone's attention for God's sakes! Not that I'm not receiving any but really! I want every eye on me, always!Probably would be the number one cause for climate change if the people around her, especially Rory decided she was a two-faced twat and needed to get burned on the stake. Instead of smelling like burning flesh, which is a bit morbid, would smell like burning plastic. D'oh. Yet Karlie would never allow that, ever. She'd be the perfect little girl she had always been and eventually have everyone tied to her manicured nails, done by yours truly, Karlie Love Mason. Why go to a nail salon when you could do things yourself anyways. Now that she still had alot of free time since she was new, she could actually do stuff she nearly never did before. Get her hair done, nails colored different everyday, even go shopping and watching a movie while at it. Wow. The perks of being a nobody. Maybe she'd be a nobody for a change. Not. Never. Ever. Period. Bringing herself back from the inner ramblings of her head, she felt around inside her bag for her concealer. "Just been having a hard time sleeping. I'm far too busy for my own good, it's getting harder to juggle everything." Rory said casually, like being tired was something normal. Not that Karlie would've complained or given a damn if Rory dropped dead of exhaustion but Kaye wasn't all that evil. She still had a heart, else she'd completely have lost her facade if she didn't have one. Kaye shook her head and tsked. "Well, you're pretty... But the circles are just abit off your color." Kaye smiled and reached for Rory's free hand. "Here, you're lucky I brought my kit with me, now where's the nearest ladies' room?" She turned around and scanned the hallway, tugging the girl after her. Rory smiled when Karlie didn't say much of anything. She felt so awkward. It was no wonder she didn't have any friends, she was too busy saying something completely uninteresting. The only person who approached her lately was Zaevier, and that didn't mean a heck of a lot since he was only interested in how she looked. Rory wasn't sure what to do next, Karlie was so entertained by her own thoughts. However, soon enough Karlie was digging through her bag, pulling out make up.
Rory didn't really wear a whole lot of make-up. In fact, none at all. God gave her everything she had, and she didn't need make up to cover up the imperfections, they were what made her. She bit her lip as she was ushered into the bathroom. Letting Karlie paint her face seemed wrong, but just seconds ago, she was thinking about how awkward she was.
And who was Rory to start telling people what she believes, and that they should believe the same? Was make-up sin? Rory brushed off the worry and sighed deeply. Surely this wouldn't be horrible. Tons of girls from her church wore it. She just seemed to be the only one that never caught onto the phase. "I've never worn make up...." Rory said slowly. It had to have been obvious, but at the same time, she felt she should disclaim this fact, in case she flinched if any make-up got too close to her eyes.

arlie smiled at the people who looked their way as she pulled Rory with her to the ladies' room, the excitement building as she had a chance to showcase her make-up skills. Sometimes, when she was heck bored and had every assignment and project done, she'd think of alternate routes for her in case she didn't succeed in conquering the world -- which was certainly happening, she'd always remind herself -- and could see herself painting artist's faces and turning them into prettier versions of themselves. "I've never worn make up...." Whispered the girl behind her, like she was confessing a crime in all honesty. Kaye almost faltered, almost. Instead, Karlie kept her walk graceful and well-mannered, enough to place her in the Victorean Era. She didn't turn around to answer until they were inside the comfort room and were infront of the powder mirror, one that had no sink under it, just a table to put your stuff on. "All girls wear make up," Karlie finally said, her heart hurt by the pure innocence she saw in Rory's eyes. Here she was, perfecting the art of beautifying one's already beautiful self, and here Rory was, hidden from the world and all things evil, herself included. Or maybe she was some evil scheming girl like Karlie was. Oh do shut up. So what if I've got an evil scheme? Kaye raised her eyebrow and brought the concealer into Rory's vision, turning her to face the mirror. "When you say never, you didn't mean that literally, right?" Kaye joked, her one brow still raised to reveal the smokey eye shadow she had on. "Of course you were, why would I even make sure." She said to herself, her eyes losing contact with Rory's as she momentarily looked down and giggled, a bit at her own silliness and at Rory's small joke. "You're funny Rory, I have to give you that." Karlie said when she looked up, the smile reaching her eyes. "So, where were we..." She opened the tube of concealer and pressed the tube lightly with the open end on her finger, letting out a small amount. With her free hand, she used her thumb to put the cap back onto the tube, a white one that was attached to the opening. She looked up at Rory and waited for the blonde's permission to continue. Matter of fact, she'd just dragged the girl into here without asking for confirmation. Rory felt herself tugged into the bathroom. She was placed in front of the mirror and she stood perfectly still. It was just make up, she reminded herself. Though the idea of it was exciting, to be gorgeous, for just one day... She sighed romantically at the thought. However, Karlie's questions brought her back to reality. She bit her lip, now or never. Her stomach tangled up in nervousness. "Of course I was kidding." Rory lied. She had never been a good liar, but she figured Karlie would be much too excited to notice the falter. She couldn't believe what she was about to let happen, let alone that she lied about it. She made a mental note to pray for forgiveness later, because there was no going back now.
"Go on." Rory said gently, trying to be as still as possible for Karlie, so she wouldn't ruin her make up. The last thing she needed was a bad first experience with this stuff.

ate's face went serious the moment Rory gave her a go signal. "Of course I was kidding." The blonde replied, or lied. Karlie was a good judge of character. She knew exactly if she'd like one person or if she'd rather just be nice to them. She knew how to hear a lie when she heard one too, if, and only if, she wasn't too drowned in her own thoughts or sea of vanity. She was experiencing the former statement. Already, she had been studying Rory's best features and was thinking of what colors would blend with her skin and which parts she had to apply them to enhance her already gorgeous features. A flurry of thoughts were flooding her brain at the moment that she missed the smallest hints in Rory's answer. An obvious signal for Kaye to know it was a lie. She smiled at herself after a few seconds as she finally decided what to the with the blonde's prominent features. Nothing. Rory's face was perfect. Adding color onto it would prove to be wrong. She'd end up looking like she wasn't just going to school but to some party or gig. Maybe then, if Rory was actually going to a party, maybe Karlie wouldn't mind painting the blonde's face for her. She already knew what to do, but it just didn't fit inside a school. The small circles under her eyes were the only problems at the moment and she focused on that. "You know," Kate said absentmindedly as she worked. "You have one of the most perfect skins on campus. How do you manage to keep that up. I mean, with all the things you have on hand, where does keeping a perfect skin fit in all those?" She asked, not wanting to make the girl just stand there and do nothing. She might get bored fast. But girl's liked making-up, either them or others doing it. So Rory wouldn't get that bored. Besides, Karlie was almost done. She'd applied even amounts on both eyes and rubbed it gently over the bags, making sure no color went off her skin tone. When she was done, she turned to look at Rory in the mirror and nodded in approval. It was a job well done. Now Rory's face didn't look as tired as it did earlier. Same would've gone for Karlie but no one, or prolly except her roomate, knew the amount of time she spent on studying, training and keeping a perfect shape. For all others, she was just this easy-go-lucky girl who never looked tired. She was never going to let her image down for one second. "So, you likey?" Karlie asked, in case Rory preferred her earlier look which Kaye would surely disapprove of.
