Haley was walking home from work today. Her stupid junky car broke down, and Jesse was already gone from his house, or else she would've seen if he'd help, which he always did. She made a mental note to buy a new car, because no amount of fixing was saving her Daewoo. It didn't help that of course, someone said her name wrong, again. She didn't like being called HAILEY. her name was HAL-EY for a reason, and being called Hailey made her feel like everyone else in the freakin' world. She held her large purse over her shoulder, already regretting she didn't have time to clean it out this morning, since she was already late. She swept her hair up into a pony tail, to keep it off her neck and turned the corner, to see her house. She smiled and walked faster, instead going to Jesse's house. Her three cats, one fish, and a dog could be wait to get fed. She loved animals, which probably why she became a vet.

Haley walked up his driveway, and let herself into his house, just to see if he was home. "Jesse" She called out. She hated interrupting him and his girlfriend. She felt bad about it, even if she didn't particularly like them together. She never seemed to support him the way he should be, and they rarely ever smiled around each other. Of course, Haley always convinced herself that it was really not her business, and she should just be happy he had found someone, but she rarely ever was content with that fact, and in fact hated it more than like it. She walked into his bedroom and opened the door, and leaned in the doorframe to find him sitting there, looking at her in surprise. She grinned at him and quietly said, ”I just got off work. Want to come eat with me?” It was pointless to waste cell phone calls and text messages to each other. She was used to getting up and walking over to see him instead. Using cell phones would be a nightmare for their bills anyways. Dinner always seemed to be a treat. Haley loved to cook, and took pride in what she did cook. However, just making food for herself was always boring and unexciting. She usually did take her leftovers to Jesse anyways if they didn’t eat together. After all, they had always been best friends, and she would always be there for him.
